Abstract
V. 1. General information regarding the installation, operation and maintenance of the Passive Bus Detector (PBD) is discussed. Installation and operation require no special adjustments except tuning the inductive-loop electronics to the loop and lead-in. When operated with a 6-ft x 6-ft loop, correct classification of mass transit (40-ft) busses should reach or exceed 95% with less than 1% false classification.
