Abstract
This research explored new techniques of disbonding ice including pavement modifications (microencapsulation of deicers, rubber additive), noncontact methods (electromagnetic radiation, abrasive air and liquid jets, acoustic waves, pressurized deicer) and contact techniques (efficient cutting edge for snow plows). The details of the study are described, and the findings are presented.
