Abstract
The objective of this research was to identify and evaluate programs for preservation of existing highway capacity and for the advance acquisition and/or preservation of the rights-of-way needed to accommodate future highway improvements. The development of a comprehensive corridor preservation program which identifies existing two-lane rural highway corridors in Kansas that may experience capacity problems in the next ten to fifteen years is outlined.
