Abstract:
During the Dutch War (1672-78), the French army used "petite guerre" or partisan warfare in its attempt to drive the Spanish from the southern Netherlands. This study focuses on those actions of war (such as forage raids and tax assessments) conducted by special parties or detachments from the regular army. The text also discusses how partisan warf.
