Abstract:
Introduction:As a Russian proverb goes, Moscow was not built in a minute. The great Sino-Russian relationship is possible only because of the joint exploration and unremitting efforts by generations. You and Us: The Story of China and Russia vividly tells the details of progress of the Sino-Russian relationship. The authors of this book have different occupations and ages, but they are all tightly bounded to Russia. By recording their findings, feelings and opinions during their work and life in Russia, the authors truthfully described the situation of Sino-Russian (Soviet) relationship against different historical backgrounds and presented their good expectation for its future. In a word, this is a book putting seemingly insignificant stories against a broad intellectual and historical background.Author:Zhou Xiaopei (Former Chinese minister to Russia and former ambassador to Ukraine, Poland and Kazakhstan)Editor's Recommendation:This book has 19 authors, most of which are Russia experts engaged in Sino-Russian/Soviet association for decades. With their personal experiences, from different eras, aspects and angles, they focused on the relationship and non-governmental exchanges between the two nations, reflected the ups and downs of the Sino-Soviet relationship and the complicated progress of the stable development of the Sino-Russian relationship and eulogized the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two nations, promoting the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination under the new situation. All the stories are real and heart-warming, with detailed interesting sidelights. Besides, they are very interesting and readable. This book is inscribed by Former State Councilor Dai Bingguo, and prefaced by leaders of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Russian Ambassador to China.
