Collection of selected, peer reviewed papers from the Fourth Annual Meeting on Testing and Evaluation of Inorganic Materials, June 7-9, 2013, Guilin, China. The 77 papers are grouped as follows: Chapter 1: Chemical Composition and Microstructure; Chapter 2: Mechanical and Physical Properties; Chapter 3: Testing Techniques and Devices. The meeting focused on the mechanical, chemical, and physical properties and the microstructure of ceramics, glass, and concrete and on techniques for testing such properties. The 77 papers include discussions of the microstructure and chemical composition of boron nitride fibers, preparing and developing bioglass by the sol-gel method, the effect of two kinds of rare earth oxides on zirconia restoration, measuring the mechanical properties of zirconia dental crowns by nanoindentations, developments in ferrite-based alloy coating by laser cladding, metamerism of tanzanite under altered illuminators, theoretical and experimental studies of stresses in vacuum glazing due to temperature difference, and using clustering analysis and discriminant analysis to grade the green color in jadeite-jades. - Ceramics. - Glass. - Materials science.
