Abstract:
Deze dissertatie onderzoekt de effecten van een volwaardig EU-lidmaatschap voor de politieke economie van IJsland. Het biedt tevens een overzicht van de EU, EER en de Europese Vrijhandelsassociatie (EVA) en een grondige analyse van de EMU en het vissers- en landbouwbeleid. Bovendien biedt dit proefschrift een blik op de voor- en nadelen van een EU-lidmaatschap. Een beslissing om deel te nemen aan de EU is uiteindelijk een politiek dilemma en deze dissertatie is bedoeld om een dergelijke beslissing zo gefundeerd mogelijk te maken.
