Abstract:
Nicusor Iftimia is leader of the Advanced Microscopy and Image Guided Interventions Group at Physical Sciences, Inc. in Andover, Massachusetts. He has been awarded several NIH and DoD grants to conduct cutting-edge research in biomedical optics imaging for cancer diagnosis and therapy guidance. He has published over forty peer-reviewed journal papers, is the author of several book chapters, and a co-inventor of more than ten patents. William R. Brugge is Director of the Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Unit at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Brugge pioneered the use of endoscopic ultrasound imaging¿in the diagnosis and staging of gastrointestinal malignancies, particularly early malignancies of the pancreas. Daniel X. Hammer is leader of the Biomedical Imaging Group at Physical Sciences, Inc. in Andover, Massachusetts. He specializes in the development of innovative biomedical optical instruments, conducting international award-winning research in the area of ophthalmology and adaptive optics. He has published more than forty peer-reviewed journal papers and is a co-inventor of more than ten patents.
