Abstract:
The international conference on Knowledge Management in 2009 (ICKM) was held in Hong Kong. The papers chosen from the event focus on the growing recognition that knowledge management is socially constructed and how offering motivations can foster a positive sense of community, yielding a higher level of knowledge sharing, especially in virtual environments. Some of the articles chosen from the conference include case studies on designing a conceptual model for a virtual community of practice for knowledge sharing, supporting and developing knowledge sharing in immersive virtual worlds and also a valuable case study on creating a knowledge strategies for non-profit organizations. In total five papers in this special issue contribute to the growing development of Knowledge Management.
