Abstract:
A prototype device, the Kansas Water-Cement Ratio Meter, has been developed that can measure the water-cement ratio of a plastic concrete mix. The method was based on the measurement of the turbidity of the water-cement slurry separated out of a concrete mixture by pressure sieving. This study was undertaken to improve the meter and to do a sesitivity analysis.
