Abstract:
The objective of this seminar was to demonstrate the state of the art in data collection equipment used in measuring pavement roughness and profile. In a workshop environment, information was provided for managers and technicians to meet the following specific objectives: (1) to present the theory of operation of pavement monitoring equipment, including items such as the characteristics of pavement profile, theory of equipment sensing devices, data storage, and data processing; and (2) to provide an overview of use and application of data in conjunction with planning, pavement management, and design.
