Abstract:
Baseball has brought us great players, great writers, and some really rotten calls. Baseball: an encyclopedia of popular culture looks at American society through the prism of its favorite pastimes, discussing not only the game but also such issues as race relations, writing, drug abuse, entertainment, gambling, movies, and the change from rural to urban society.
