Abstract:
"A study has been conducted to evaluate the performance and behavior of a tire sidewall reinforced earth embankment. The fill material is an intermixture of clayey sandy silt. Instruments were installed and monitored to measure lateral soil pressure, stress in the connecting elements of the tire mat system, elongation of the sidewalls, movement of the soil within the fill mass and sidewalls, settlements, and lateral movements of the embankment with respect to depth. Laboratory pull-out tests conducted on a buried sidewall and clip are reported"--Technical report documentation p.
