Abstract:
The 21 peer-reviewed papers collected here together offer a plenitude of up-to-date information on "Nanoscale Materials & Inorganic Fibre Composites". The papers are conveniently arranged into DISCLOSING MATERIALS AT NANOSCALE, ADVANCED INORGANIC FIBRE COMPOSITES FOR STRUCTURAL AND THERMAL MANAGEMENT APPLICATIONS.This special volume has also been published online in the series, "Advances in Science and Technology" Vol. 71 via www.scientific.net.Review from Book News Inc.: This final volume in the 10-volume proceedings presents 21 papers from the symposia on disclosing materials at nanoscale, and advanced inorganic fiber composites for structural and thermal management applications. Among the topics are silicate glass-ceramic thin films doped with rare earths for integrated optical devices, the synthesis of carbon nanotubes/gold nanoparticle hybrids for environmental applications, simulating complex dielectric materials, the ballistic impact characteristics of woven fabrics impregnated with a colloidal suspension and flattened rolls, designing and preparing laminated composites, developing and characterizing transparent glass matrix composites, and applying fiber produced by plasma spray in cementitious complex binder.
