Abstract:
The 38 peer-reviewed papers collected here together offer a plenitude of up-to-date information on "Transparent Conducting and Semiconducting Oxides, Solid State Lighting, Novel Superconductors and Electromagnetic Metamaterials". The papers are conveniently arranged into TRANSPARENT CONDUCTING AND SEMICONDUCTING OXIDES, Materials Design and Device Development, Applications, MATERIALS FOR SOLID STATE LIGHTING, SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING OF NOVEL SUPERCONDUCTORS, ELECTROMAGNETIC METAMATERIALS.This special volume has also been published online in the series, "Advances in Science and Technology" Vol. 76 via www.scientific.net.Review from Book News Inc.: The forum is recorded in five volumes, each containing a cluster of more or less closely related topics, so scientists only interested in one area will not have to buy the whole proceedings. The title succinctly lists the four international symposia where the 38 papers in this volume were presented. Among the topics are transparent conductors on polymer films, nano-structured metal oxides as cathode interfacial layers for hybrid-polymer electronic devices, organic syntheses and characteristics of novel conjugated polymers for organic light-emitting diodes, the terahertz spectroscopy of superconductors, sea water magneto-hydrodynamics for generating power and hydrogen, radar absorbing materials based on metamaterials, and selected applications of transformation electromagnetics.
