Abstract:
The 31 peer-reviewed papers collected here together offer a plenitude of up-to-date information on "Advances in Silicate Ceramics". The papers are conveniently arranged into SCIENCE OF SILICATE CERAMICS, INNOVATION IN THE SILICATE CERAMICS INDUSTRY, NANOTECHNOLOGY AND ADVANCED SOLUTIONS IN SILICATE CERAMICS, DECORATION, COLOUR AND DESIGN OF SILICATE CERAMICS.This special volume has also been published online in the series, "Advances in Science and Technology" Vol. 68 via www.scientific.net.Review from Book News Inc.: The first of two sequential gatherings, the Congress is documented in 10 volumes of proceedings, of which this is the seventh, designated Part G. The 29 papers cover silicate ceramics from perspectives of the relevant science; innovation in the industry; nanotechnology and advanced solutions; and decoration, color, and design. Among the topics are structural transformations of clay during firing, the consolidation of sand by alkaline silicate solution, nano-sized metal oxide modification applied in microfiltration membrane technology, and developing new ceramic dyes. The Forum generated five volumes of its own.
