Abstract:
This book is about American guerrilla fighters, clandestine operators who work in small cells or individually. The government and society consider their activity criminal. These individuals, on the other hand, view their operations as a struggle against wrong government or in some cases a specific evil law. In this fight there are no commanders, no chains-of-command, and no official central strategy to guide operations. Each man or woman acts as their conscience dictates, motivated by religious principles or racial theory. Some of them represent causes not alien to many residents in the mainstream United States. Abortion, traditional moral standards, and the debate over government's constitutional role are some of the divisive issues taken up by these people. However, these irregular fighters, whatever their label-- Phinehas Priest, Lone Wolf terrorist, or Army of God warrior-- in their fervor for a cause decide to take up arms against what they consider evil. This book will provide an essential understanding to the idea of resistance to the government and the concept of a Phinehas Priesthood. As with any study of terrorists, terrorism, insurgencies, revolution, and guerrilla warfare, the subject is fraught with ideas and concepts that come in shades of gray. Truth, untruth, deception, and deceit are the tools of the resistance fighter and terrorist. He or she depends on these techniques to survive in a hostile society. At times there is no concrete evidence to follow, no direct proof of connection or culpability. Only the faint paths of tactics, common rhetoric, or similar goals indicate likely associations or similar activities.
