Abstract:
Part of the "Directory of World Cinema" series, this title includes contributions from some of the leading academics in the field. It features film recommendations from a range of genres for those interested in watching more German cinema. It includes 50 full colour illustrations. It also features comprehensive filmography as an index. Spanish Cinema is one of the most diverse and interesting to international level; but lacks communication platforms and detailed analysis. This new volume of the "Directory of World Cinema" addresses the issue. It focuses on the main corpus of movies that have left an indelible tread through different generations of spectators and a place where users can read full analysis of the best films with an interdisciplinary perspective. Introductory essays establish key players and explore important genres such as Biography, Guerra Civil (Civil War), Comedy, Crime, Documentary, Drama/Social Drama, Experimental, Family/Children, Fantasy/Sci-Fi, Horror, Musical, Mystery, Period, Romance, Teen, Thriller and Transicion (Cinema of the Transition). Reviews and case studies analyze individual titles in considerable depth. For the film studies scholar, or for all those who love Spanish cinema and want to learn more, "Directory of World Cinema: Spain" will be an essential companion.
